I have been practicing Bowen therapy since 2009.
I am a Registered Nurse and suffered from back pain due to my career and a car accident. I tried numerous types of treatments to easy my back pain, and finally found Bowen.
Wow, I couldn’t believe the relief it gave me. I knew without a doubt I needed to learn this modality and pass it on.
As a Registered nurse the learning came very easy to me and I soon had many clients that I helped find healing from back pain, knee pain, leg pain, neck tension, tennis elbow, frozen shoulder, headaches, stomach issues, anxiety, bed wetting, to my own baby with colic, and many more.
Bowen is a very gentle treatment involving small rolling movements over muscles ligaments and tendons throughout the body.

I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist working with children (5+), adolescent, or adult clients on an individual basis. Theories that I often pull from are Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), but I implement other modalities as it pertains to each client’s needs.
I believe therapy can be helpful for anyone, and I encourage you to connect if you are unsure where to start. Individuals may seek therapy for help with anxiety, depression, self-harm and suicidal ideation, anger or behavioural problems, emotion regulation challenges, relationship or familial conflict, life transitions, or grief and bereavement. Starting therapy can be daunting and overwhelming and I work to join clients wherever they are in the therapeutic process. For my younger clients, this often means a heavy emphasis on relationship building in order to cultivate a friendly and safe environment where they can learn about their experiences of emotions and learn tools to help improve their wellbeing.
For more information, please feel free to contact me or take a look at my website emilycartertivendale.com. I also offer a free 15 minute consultation over the phone or in person.
My hourly rate for individual counselling is $210, in accordance with the current fee schedule recommended by the Psychologists’ Association of Alberta. Fees are generally covered in whole, or in part, by extended health care insurance plans available through your employer, and individuals will receive a detailed receipt at the time of payment which can be submitted to their insurance provider for reimbursement. Please check the details of your plan to confirm coverage. Please inquire with me directly if you are in need of accessible counselling options

Since 2012, my mission has always been to help people. Initially, I started as a yoga instructor, guiding others into gently stretching the body effectively through group and private classes. In 2021, I became a Level 2 Fascial Stretch Therapist. FST has many benefits and can significantly optimize the body’s overall performance. Working with many different bodies and injuries, I have found through my experience that sometimes all the body needs is a great stretch. We hold onto so much in the mind and body that we don’t realize how restricted we are. Fascial Stretch Therapy can holp to decrease/eliminate pain, increase range of motion, improve blood flow, calm the nervous system and reducing stress while helping the body to move more freely. FST helps to create more space in the body, so it can move the way you intend it to move.
Outside of the clinic, I love to spend time at home with my hubby and 4 kiddies and puppy, go on adventures and eat amazing food.
